We kept seeing the same pattern: founders, PMs, and non-technical builders would vibe-code something that "works kinda," then panic when it came time to scale, secure, or hand off to a real team. They'd turn to Upwork or Fiverr, wade through hundreds of profiles, hire someone cheap, and end up with code that was somehow worse than before.
Meanwhile, the best freelance developers we knew—the ones who could actually untangle spaghetti and ship production-ready code—were buried under agency overhead, platform fees, and endless "quick calls" with tire-kickers.
